Not meaning to rape a corpse here, but I have semi-cured the issues on copying loads of files.
SCSI Termination.
Previously, It was a jumper on the 4GB SCSI Drive.
I helped the reliability with taking the other devices off the line, and when I dug out my old SyQuest 44MB job, that had Temination resistors on,and I was able to fil up a whole 44MB disk with junk and it didnt hang, so I added tat to the chain and put the 4GB back minus its Term Jumper and I was able to copy the entire of E: over ( roughly 740MB ) without it hanging.
I have since taken the T/R's off, cleaned them up, refit them so they are snug, put it at the end of the chain, and I have now also been able to finished of D: ( 200MB or so ) and F: ( 450MB ) and G: ( 900MB ) and its been running and copying files for over 2 hours now without a hang.
Better than the previous 2 or 3 minutes.
Just wanted to add that.
Dont want to dig up this thread that Paranoid wanted to kill off.
