So when you say Link type host adapter I would need another host adapter? Not just a 19 to 50 pin cable? Sorry if I seem dense but I am taking up the Atari St again as a hobby after being away for many years.

If so, then it's still not a simple cable solution. :( You are going to need a second Link-type host adapter with DMA cable at the external SCSI device end.

A better (and cheaper) solution would be to get an internal 50-pin SCSI cable for 2+ SCSI devices. Then put the 2 SCSI devices in one box if there is room; otherwise, you'll need a new enclosure.
