Ok, this has just happened...
I went to switch on my Falcon.
As soon as I get the HDDRIVER notice coming up, the Falcon resets.
I have done a bit of fiddling and I have taken the HDDRIVER off the HD and it now no longer boots from the HD, although it will boot from Floppy just fine.
( If I try to put it back onto the HD it fails again )
Now, last night, I put BIGDOS-F.PRG in my Auto Folder, and I saw that it said that a couple of bytes needed to change on C: shall I overwrite Y/N... I said yes, thats the only thing I think it could have been?
I have dug out another HD and I can now boot off that just fine, but not my main good Drive.
What a shit.
The thing is, that now, I need access to the FAT32 Partition as thats got all my backups on, I have a load of data on the good ( Now non-booting ) drive that I need to grab before I wipe it and I am kind of stuck in rut on this one.
I have decided that the disk simply needs re-partitioning and so I am going back to Compact Flash ( I have one 512MB for C: and one 4GB for D: to I: and the SCSI for the FAT32 )
Sodding BigDos.
I suppose I will re-try it once I have obtained a backup of my Data again, but why is this happening? how can BigDos do this?
Oh, sorry, I forgot...
When I boot from Floppy, I cannot have HDDriver.PRG in the Auto folder... I need to run it from the Desktop... Or I get 9 or 10 bombs ( Need to count them )
