Hmm.. Enough was most certainly enough.
I have stripped the Atari down to its bare essentials once again, I removed all traces of HD Driver from the IDE HD, and I set about going through the whole lot with a fine tooth comb.
Its not 100% - but its the most stable its been so far.
I have a couple of times, had Cubase hang on me when its trying to start up... This could be CACHE issues however.
Magic & Jinnee run just fine. Still got an issue with GEMVIEW 3 so on checking CZubaTech I find that some modules do it... Mine is loaded to the hilt with every mod Ican find, so no doubt issues will happen there... God knwos which ones then so looks like I will have to accept the loss and just go play with them until I find the culprits.
I also need to go throug heach and every single file, and make a note of any settings and also backup the files themselves too.
STill, I am asking myself whether all this hassle is worth the speed over the TT, and in all honestly no its not. The only reason I feel the Falcon is better is that it does 256 Colours in 640x480 mode as opposed to the TT's 16.
I think if I got a GFX Card for the TT and some more RAM, I would get rid of the Falcon easily.
Lets see though... Its working lovely now, and time will tell...
Oh yeah, and as for the IDE and/or SCSI issues, sheilding the cable and even shortening it, did nothign to help ( nothing immediate anyway )
Earlier on, I copied my entire Music Drive ( G: and 860MB worth of junk ) and the whoel lot went over... I half expected it to stop, but it kept going and going... I left it be and a while later I came back and say that it was almost finished and a few minutes later it did just that.
First time for everything.
This was with only the one drive connected to the SCSI Line mind you, but its the right direction.
Tonight I will do the same but this time I will use the right drives.
