Brad, I took a closer look at my software collection last night and made 2 interesting discoveries.
A) I was mistaken about the Happy software version, it was not v5.6,,,,, I it is version 5.3! sorry about that, but it changes nothing, if that is the 810 version of the software I have, then that is what was used to copy the disks. I also found a complete "kit" of parts in a plastic bag ... It is the "auto speed mod" for the 810 happy. Ready to install,, but no 810 Happy...:(
((Don't you already have a copy of V5.3?????))
B) A possibly terrific discovery!!! I found out that I have an intermediate version of the Happy software v6.6!,, I booted the software and it has a banner on the top that says (for 1050 only),,, I did not have time to take a really close look at it last night, but at first glance I did not see any PDB support for this version! If this is true, than this would be the intermediate version that was released to support the 1050 Happy before the PDB system was released. If that is true, perhaps it might be as good as (or better) at 1:1 copying as the original 5.x series!!! I will have to check it out this weekend.
Also, I am sorry but it was not I that brought up the Discovery system. I know very little about it. Save that it is for backing up 16-bit software. I have no idea if it can be used for 8-bit duplication...
