Personally, since your HD is now dead, Id consider moving over to a Compact Flash.
Im sure that there is no real issues with buying any other new LapTop HD and it will probably work fine, but I also feel that they are massive and you will never really use even a fraction of the space on them.
I feel that a 4GB to 10GB HD is plenty, but of course each person uses their atari differently.
I myself have a number of options, Im not really settled in to what I want.
I have a couple of Compact Flash adapters, and a few cards, so thats almost definitely what I am going to settle on.
I am currently using a 6.5GBHD and I have a 10GB here too thats also partitioned on the Falcon, but it chuggs a little so Im not 100% on using it anymore.
Plenty of options for me then, but the issues I may face with Compact Flash is that I need HD Driver v8 to boot from it, v7 wont work properly... However, CuBase Audio is supposed to have issues with HDDriver v8 and so Im in a dilemma.
Hey, listen...
I have a bundle of HDs here... Few sizes.
I will sort you one out if you want me to?
