Subject: RE: Max length for Falcon SCSI cables?

Should be ok. I have an internal ribbon cable on a Hades 060 of about 100cm.

I have shielded external SCSI cables with moulded plugs of about 300cm and these cause no problems. If you start to get strange behaviour, like being unable to locate devices on the bus, then the cable you have may not be up to the task.

Just make sure you bus is properly terminated when you have more than one device on it The way most Atari systems are designed you only need terminating resistors at the end of the cable, most adaptors (including the Falcon with onboard SCSI) are supplied with termination installed at the end of the interface.

I've seen more problems from incorrect termination than cable errors.
