The current Amiga isn't capable of SMP I'm afraid. I wouldn't hold your breathn for the Pre-Box either. There is supposed to be a G3 based card coming out from Metabox though.
For excellent SMP support I would reccomend BeOS.
>Amiga Inc. stated the NEW Amiga WILL be >revolutionary! Although some important
I certainly hope so.
>hardware will be mainstream it will also >has a super secret chip. They state that
Hmm, apparantly the MMC deal fell through. :-(
There's more then enough cool graphoc chipsets out there though and the OS is supposed to be hardware independant.
>the new Amiga will sandardly be 5x -10x >more powerfull than a $3000 PC for >multimedia uses! (That is a $500 Amiga
The plans have changed. Check out www.amiga.com or Squids Amiga Page and rumour mill for details. Even RJ-Mical and Dave Haynie read that page :-0

Not videos but HDTV stream playback.
BeOS is capable of playing four quicktime movies at once :-))

I can't wait for a new machine.
Only problem is finding the desk room ;-)
>By the way I also use Linux but the Amiga >OS will be more powerfull for multimedia >etc.
Linux is rather good isn't it.
Check out BeOS for multimedia as well.
