I doubt those clowns would have known how to make a bootable workbench disk.
They're probably right now arguing that console x is better than console y. ;-))
The next time somebody says that machine x is better than y ask them why.
Writing 68k hardware baging code for both the Amiga and the Atari may have educated them somewhat. ;-))
All the coders that I know would never resort to "piss-taking" and they tend to know the Amiga and the Atari quite well.
If this still happens quote this to them.
What machine uses $dff180 as a hardware regsister or what machine uses $ff8240.
If they can't tell you which one uses what then they shouldnd't be arguing about the technical merits of either machine :-))

If it does it does. If it doesn't it doesn't. I would think that any new machine is going to be at least comparable in power to a PC. It's suicide if it isn't and Collas isn't stupid.
