hi there flix,

i think this isnīt impossible because:

thereīs a media-player from france
called "ani-player" which is supposed
to run on falcon ,i think. this player is
able to play many audio-formats like
real-audio , riff-wave and & mp3 .
it even runs on the ste using dma-
sound.
i downloaded it and installed it on
my mega st and:

it can play real-audio files (28.8)
and wavīs , but iīll get bombs
trying to play mp3s .
(hey the quality isnīt that bad !)

so, if itīs possible to code a wav player
on the st , why shouldnīt it be possible
to write an mp3 decoder !?

i did something in sound coding very
long ago , but today i neither have the
time nor the info about the mp3-file-format.
but though iīm still writing st-soft ! :)
