Somehow, i knew you would be answering to this question
and also somehow, i knew it would involve terms like
"maybe", "don't know all the details" and "I don't know".
Don't get me wrong, but who do you think did you help
with this post ?
It's not only not normally not possible to boot from B:,
it's simply not possible. An Atari with an internal disk drive
will never read the boot-sector (please note, it involves
the word "boot") of any other disk but the internal one
without hardware bypasses.
To come back to the original question: If drive B: is intact -
which i doubt since a spinning motor and a lit LED doesn't
imply it's fully operational - the simplest solution would be
to simply put the drive from the external disk drive into the
ST and use it as an internal one.
Good luck, Richard.
