Hmmm ... Well, if it has a slot where a 3.5" disk fits in,
it most probably has a disk drive. A 520ST is unlikely to
have one, the 1040STF and 1040STE will have one. The
standard RAM of a 520 is 1/2 Megabyte in size, the RAM
of a 1040 is 1MB, unless expanded in some way.
There are a few tools on ftp- and various websites that
"examine" your computer and list a few details about the
internals (such as the Infomat) but running it on unmodified
STs is rather boring:

An Atari ST will read and write DD disks just fine if you
format them on your PC, so data exchange up to 720KB
should be easy.
