You can pretty much make any mode you want with the video mode generator. However, most old software won't work anyway, since they check xbios(5) or whatever looking for old mode values that won't be there. :P
While undoubtedly true, I can't recall any productivity software that stymied the Hades. There's a control panal for setting compatibility, and once I achieved a maximum for my use, I left it alone.
My experieince is that it is mostly games that have a hard time. Old ST Low or medium applications were mostly superceded by more modern software, and that mostly works.
