That desk acc lets you alter the cookie jar, to trick some old software into seeing a TT or an 030 CPU or whatever. That works for some apps indeed.
Typically the GEM stuff works fine, since they likely use the VDI to inquire the screen size, which is the best way to do it. Most productivity software falls into this category.
There are exceptions. I could never get CAD-3D to work, even though it appears to be a GEM app on the surface, as it would always say the machine was st-high and refuse to run, even after setting up a mode identical to ST low. Which was a pity, would of loved to seen CAD-3D go faster. :)
