Yes, certainly helpful but I'm not there yet. I have HDDRIVER.PRG but cannot see reference to the term 'physical device'.
The 230mb cartidge is a new one (my old one is somehow corrupted and my back-up was in the car when stolen.) I don't want to boot from it. The data I don't dare lose is that on my large Hitachi harddisk within my Falcon, partitioned C-J. I'd previously used K-N for the syquest drive, if that makes sense.
So to partition the new one, I started with HDDRUTIL.APP and located HDDRIVER.PRG.
The ID check under the Options Menu recognises the Syquest Drive as SCSI 4 Direct Access (5 is my CD Rom) but when I click on SCSI Drives I get the dialogue box 'no device found'.
Should I have clicked on Install HDDRIVER which I was reluctant to do before double checking that I don't reformat/partition my hardisk by mistake.
