Well, SCSI DRIVE now recognised in HDDRIVER.
There's an item Removable Media under Options and that tells me that the minimum number of partitions is 4. and max sector size 512, all as expected. A check showed no bad sectors.
There's a Partiton Assignment option with 7 ACIS slots and 8 SCSI ones including zero. Two IDEs 0 and 1. The Syquest had come up as SCSI 4.
The other 'Partition' option appears under the HARDDISK tab. It asks for type (GEM?) and mbyte which I elected split and that divided the total capacity of 220.0 equally.
On rebooting, whoa I have KLMN partitions on the Syquest cartridge now available to me. I've lost the CD Rom P drive for now but I'll endeavour to recover that later.
Many thanks for your help and I hope our posts might be helpful to others some day.
