Yes, in the Falcon RAM is located on a little daughter board right above the TOS ROM. The Atari RAM cards are custom and cannot be upgraded (except for the rare 1MB version), but there's third party support. WBSystemtechnik, Centek and Paskud in Poland have made them until recently, and if you're lucky you might find some on eBay.

Regarding resolutions, the Falcon can be soft- and hardware extended. Software extension is somewhat limited but a popular screen resolution enhancer is Videl Inside by Francois Galea or Videlity by Peter Green which appears to be free now.
