In my experience... It sounds like the tv switching between rgb/component.

& just to be sure we're all talking about the same thing; What is component?

I know rgb/s-video/composite...

When setting up on my TV with scart cable bought via 16/32 webshop I could switch between the different inputs and find the best one...

But it sounds like check out what your TV is doing...
