I am hard pressed to recomend an Atari, although I wouldn't be caught dead without one. I have a 68060 Hades and it compares well with a G3, BUT if I use MagiCmac on the G3 it runs Atari software faster then the Hades.
Still you have to put up with the Mac in order to use it as an Atari.
Calamus SL is a more powerful program then Quark.
Atari Image Processing programs while powerful enough are not in the same league with Photoshop - Das Repro has some features not found on ANY software and Photoline and others can, as I say, do almost everything you want to get done.
There is no rendering software on the Atari comparable to Mac stuff.
For me the bottom line was Calamus SL and Das Repro - For vector graphics I use Outline and Das Vector but Illustrator is much more powerful.
Hope this helps - As I say I love the Atari and if the Milan is more powerful then my Hades I'll probably pick one of these up also
