As far as I reacal, the Whiteline Linux CD's as sold by System Solutions are
based on Debian but are a bit pricey. You can get hold of the full set of Debian
CD's quite cheaply. Assuming from your e-mail address you live in the UK
give http://www.linuxsource.co.uk a try. You can buy the two CD set of Debain
v2.1 (slink) for only six quid. Debian is now up to v2.2, but this was only
officialy released a short time a go so it make take a little while for the CD
vendors to catch up.
I have been using Debain 2.1 on my Hades for several months and it is rock
solid. It has never crashed once since I have installed it.
You will find on the CD's all the usual you would expect from a Linux
distribution such as X Windows, a selection of window managers (such
as AfterStep, FVWM etc ), development tools ( C/C++ compilers ) and
even a selection of games including a rather good Civilization clone which
you can play against the computer or with friends across a network or
the Internet.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Ben Hills.
