The Hard Disk inside the Falcon will almost definetely be a 2.5" IDE One!
This is much smaller than standard IDE Drives, just for machines like the Falcon/ST/Laptop etc...
The Best Software you can get, that will run both IDE and SCSI together, is HD-Driver, available from System Solutions.
That IS the best you can get, and if anyone says otherwise, then they are lying!
However, if you want a free Disk Driver software, then get hold of CBHD.
Clauss Brod HardDisk Driver... Get hold of an English version though.
Its just as good, and a weird bit of fun, it can partition Floppy disks too????
Failing both of those, the the good old AHDI Software ( Atari's own ) can use both IDE and SCSI, its a bit slow, ( Very slow ) but its a good failsafe, especially if your drives suddenly go a bit pete-tong. Its as reliable as you can probably get!
One final note:
Go for HD-Driver. It lets you use almost any sized disk you can throw at it, even on the ST. ( although with some TOS limits of course ). and I can even read my MAC's disks too! ( You have to want this option dont you? )
Good luck with mixing! - I have IDE, SCSI, and ACSI on the TT, so its fun...If a bit useless!
