I might be wrong, but CD's with long file names are not in the standard CD-Rom format. They are some special extended format that MS came up with to get the long filenames on to the CD.

I have this trouble as well with long file names on CD's in Win 3.1.
I dont know of any way round this for Win 3.1, so the chances on the Atari are pretty slim!
