If you want to run ST soft on your IMAC,
then install MAGICMAC!! Then you won´t
have to bother with that .ST images crap.
It´ll read ALL disks; ST, peesee, FALCON.
And you just copy the applications to the
harddrive and RUN them! No .ST image trouble!
MAGIC makes your IMAC behave just like a ST,
or even a FALCON, really, only with the major
difference that there´s no DSP :-( but you´ll
get a nice GEM desktop with multitasking and
drag´n drop, in any rez!! I use 800X600X256C.
I got two MACs (with REAL 040s) both are
running MAGIC 6. Now imagine the joy of
downloading a bunch of files with CAB,
and as soon as the first file is DL:ed,
you can drag it to STZIP and unzip it
while CAB downloads the rest of the files :)
I can tell CAB is really flying under MAGIC
on a 40MHZ 040 MAC, then imagine the speed
on a 233-333MHZ IMAC! I´d love to see that!
