OK, I believe you on that one. I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you mean with "other not closed platform". Do you mean that the game industry moved from the ami/atari platform to the console business? That's not so bad.. In fact, it is one of the reasons why I can make some money nowadays. :)

That's your own choice. If you like the ami better, well, that's fine with me. But don't tell me that the Atari platform lacks a creative and inspiring community. It's simply not true. :)

I'd rather say that the Amiga OS gave me an uninvited feeling. It felt like it was saying: "This is computer was made to play games on. So don't even think about using it for any other purpose." But this is my personal experience, which is ofcourse heavily influenced by my personal taste etc. But you will have to admit that back in the "golden days" of both the Ami and the Atari platform, Atari's were used in professional environments far more often than Ami's were. (Examples: MIDI, DTP) I know very well that the Amiga is (in theory) capable of doing the same tasks just as well as the Atari can. But this potential wasn't used often. That's all.

That's okey. But if you discover things in the AmigaOS, that does not mean that these possibilities do not exist on the Atari platform (or any other platform). I hope that you are willing to accept this.
About that Bill Gates quote: He is an imbecil. He really is. :)

I didn't check out those urls yet. Are you really that sure Atari's can't do it? Practically, Atari and Amiga have just about the same capabilities. So I don't see any reason why they couldn't do it.

The only thing that can persuade me is better software for my purposes. :) And about that new Amiga... Well, I've heard other sides of the story too, which make me believe that it isn't that sure at all that the machine will be this capable. It isn't even sure that the machine will be ready in time, or that it will ever be finished at all. So I'll believe it when I see it, I don't like sticking to a dream that probably/possibly won't come true. But ofcourse, you are free to do what you want.
To end this with a challenge: Kratje bier erop dat die Amiga2 niks wordt? ;)
Cheers,
/Peter.
