Dear Flash,
Dan Dodge already announced (Amiga Network News) half a year ago that QNX Neutrino works on the iMac. But the initial version of QNX RtP will be x86 because there are simply near 8 times more x86 machines on the market, than any other platforms (and at much better prices).
There are MIPS and PPC versions of QNX Neutrino. I don`t think QSSL would make it their top priority to get QNX RtP to fully work on these platforms untill they have a OEM computer manufacturer that would want to fully commit to a QNX RtP based PPC or MIPS based platform.
Dan Dodge is a pretty active member within the Phoenix Developer Consortium, that I am also part of. We have a very good Amiga/Mac PPC board manufacturer among us. Let`s wait and see if something envolves. Apple has certainly been of no help, which puts in doubt if we will see a QNX RtP version for the iMac soon.
P.S. Amiga Inc is part of the Phoenix Consortium as well. Already 15.000 Amiga SDKs have been sold to developers. If half the things Bill McEwen told me in Neuss becomes reality, 2001 will become on hell of an interesting year. Stay tuned!
Sincerely, Mike Bouma.
