I'm glad you like the Amiga - my confession is I'm an Amiga user but back in 1990 when I got the Amiga it was a close run thing between an A500 and a 1040 :)
Anyhow. The Amiga did have slightly better GFX capabilities so you'll see some games are improved on the Amiga, or perhaps didn't have an Atari conversion if they were a bit tricky. But as soon as you started using sound, the Amiga didn't cut it at all as far as I know. I still know studios which use Ataris where the Amiga was never brilliant in this field. AmigaOS is an amazing system, like you lot we get power without having to have a gig of RAM to load the OS.
I'm just on the site looking at our old rivals, glad to see you're surviving as well! And I'm glad you appreciate the Amiga
