I will certainly agree with Chris(Hi,man this is Panagiotis!) on that matter,but to say the truth the Amiga OS was from the beginning better than the GEM. And the fact was that AmigaDOS was and is fully multitasking,better -MUCH BETTER than that shit called Windows. And why? Because it has this unix flavour that in that old time was sth new if not NON existing in the home computing( I think only Acorns had sth like this).Of course,nowadays with OS upgrades like Magic,NVDI and all that sort of things,I would say that things are different(Magic does a very good multitasking)and software is more likely to be found for an Atari than for an Amiga. Remember that hw engineers were swapping from both companies in the background,that's why ideas and developments were so close but never the same(marketing shit).To say the truth,Amiga is still the best in fields like 3d-raytracing-animation, but sucks in let's say direct-to-disk audio,sequencing or DTP cases.(Take for example the test between A1200-Falcon030 on an old STFormat)I still own a couple of Amigas (500+/1200),as I still own a couple of Falcon030's,
STfm,Jaguars and the list goes on... and they all do what they are made to do.Nothing more,nothing less!! The fact is that there must have to be someone to make both systems arise again,sth which is very difficult to happen.And by the way: Winston plays like shit in many games....I prefer my 1040 STFM......or a Rick Dangerous on the original A500+.!!!!!
