Ok, ok, the Amiga vs Atari war, has gone on for quite a while now, and all very well, I think its a healthy arguement, with strong issues on both sides...
Lets stretch the war a bit now...
I hate SPECTRUMS!
I love COMMODORE 64's.... EVEN THE C16 was superior to the SPECTRUM, and the Plus/4 more so...
Has that got the masses going I wonder?
No, seriously...
It does not matter which was better than what, or whether this does that or the other... Who really cares?
At the end of the day, I use many different types of computer, for many different types of uses... I have PC's for Windows & Linux, which also has its own little wars, Atari's for MultiTOS, Geneva, and Magic, which even down on this scale I know people still get to stab at each other.
God knows, I still use the Commodore 16 now and then for playing games, that I miss, and nothing has done anything like them in years.
The facts remain... A Computer is a computer. No matter how much it costs or how fast it is, or whether it has 500 Gigs of RAM with a 10 Billion terrabyte HD, the older Computers can probably give you exactly the same results with 95% of the jobs you ask of it. No, it probably wont do it yesterday, and maybe not in as many colours, but it will probably do it!
Oh, bugger... Where's the ORIC gone to?
