Hi,
Here's the reason why Medusa or Milan Computer didn't buy the logo and
trademarks of Atari : it was too expensive. Remember that Atari was sold for
$5 million. Of course, this is not a big price for a company like Hasbro. But
Medusa and Milan are much more smaller, and can't afford it. Also perhaps they
didn't want to buy it.
Moreover, for copyright reasons, users of the Atari logo and trademarks have to
pay a fee just for displaying them, because they're not in public domain (try to
put the "Intel Inside" on your website and you'll see... Intel lawyers asking you
a lot of money. Of course none of us will put the Intel Inside logo on his website!).
I'm wondering what Infogrames will make with Atari... nothing I guess. It's
so sad...
