Well, I got the Jag working.

Of all the power adapters at Radio Shack, I happened to pick up a defective one!
Hehe...after all that trouble...
I brought my Jag into the store yesterday (the sales clerk said "I haven't seen one of these in a while!") where they tested another Sega Genesis adapter on it and it worked.
You were lucky to get someone who even recognised it - my local (well, sorta) games store had never heard of it :(
My Jaguar happens to be a K series with a red light and doesn't hiss! The Joypads are B series.
Hehe. The G joypads look nicer, but I don't think there's any other difference. The K series ones only had a hissing problem in some cases (like my one, for example :P). I have no idea why my Jag has a green LED for the power. Must be because it's a PAL machine. I hope so anyway ;)

Ack, been trying to get that for ages. I have Rayman, AvP and Tempest 2k though, as well as a CD system with Battlemorph, Highlander, VidGrid, Blue Lightning and Myst. I'm also bidding on Ultra Vortek.
