Hello.
First you will need a switch box. Forget about going to the nearest Toy'R'Us because you will find there at most the new ones which will not work for you Atari 2600.
The new ones detect when the game console is sending a signal and "switch" from TV to Game Mode and back as apropiate. The Atari 2600's signal is not strong enough, I believe, to actuate the switch box.
You will need to get the old manually actuated one which used to be enclosed with the origial equipment. I got mine at Radio Shack.
In adition to that, you will need a 300 to 75 Ohm converter. The 2 cables coming from the switch box go to this converter que the conerter goes to what you call "the hole" on the back of your TV.
Important: Make sure you get the *MANUAL* one, which in Radio Shack costs about $5 (five) dollars. When I went searching for mine, everywhere I went that tried to sell me the newr models for $35+, which will *NOT* work.
