Did your previous 720kb drive function?
Perhaps your controller is dead (Western Digital WD1778).
Try also to upgrade to TOS 2.06 (not 2.05) and add a special utility in the auto folder of the hard disk (I can't remember its name, I'll check out this evening and
reply tomorrow)
To work properly in HD mode, the WD must run at 16 MHz (this is not the speed of the 68000), and 8 MHz for 720 Kb.
