Well I do know where to get the info about atari's involvement with the amiga.

I didn't say that the ST was bad, it wasn't, it just wasn't that good.
Incidently I noticed most of the postings come from people in the UK.
I live in the US.
Well what does that have to do with anything, you are proably asking.
In the US the amiga and the atari st(later the tt and the falcon) didn't sell very well.
It was murder for them to compete against the PC and Macs.
However both did get what might be called (makes them sound like a rock band doesn't it!) a "cult" following. The amiga did however sell a little better than the atari line. But niether machine was closely assocaited with each other as thier were in the UK and Europe. (I know this because I had a few imported UK computer mags that would cover both the amiga and atari st only; and how amiga people would rank on atari people and vice versa. At one point it seemed as though most of the games for either system came from UK companies.)
Incidently I thought it was no suprise that Commodore and Atari, both went bankrupt and out of busines within a year or 2 of each other.

Hmm Jay Miner (correct spelling btw) said the Atari ST was a "neat little computer". Check out his interview on Aminet.

The new Amiga is also operating system independant.
The Atari had VDI to abstract the screen display whereas the classic Amiga is still tied to AGA etc.

Different strokes for different people.
Ask yourself how TOS and GEM run on a PC video card on some of the clone systems. Think abstraction :-)
