Printer drivers are not unified on the Atari.
The driver is dependant on the application you use. There are Calamus drivers, 1st Word drivers, etc... and GDOS drivers for progs that use GDOS.
Most modern applications use GDOS, so it is useful to have either GDOS, SpeedoGDOS or NVDI. From there you can get a GDOS driver for your HP which will work with most programs. NVDI comes with lots of drivers and I'm pretty sure that there is an HP driver in there that will work.
This is assuming that your HP printer is not one of those cheap "Optimized for Windows" (which really means "Only for Windows") ones.
