The program you are looking for is Scan-X. Supports Microtek and UMax scanners. The latest version he has was Scan-x Pro and works real well. Can't tell you for sure if it supports all Microtek scanners but covers the E3Plus and E6 as well as the Powerpoint to name a couple.
Also allows you to scan and print in one swoop.
