Hello.
Stop dreaming, an STe without some major accelerator can't play mp3's realtime.
Please note "realtime". What aniplayer does when it succeeds to play a bit of a song is simply to pre-decode the file and play the decompressed part on the dma.
Also saying that the STe replay the mp3's in "16bit" is false, it simply make a conversion to 8 bits when it is decoding. Also the STe has no possibility to play 44100 Hz, so it is scaled to 50 or 25 kHz.
Sorry to ruin all your hopes, but it's a fact. You're best off putting your STe on decoding a song into an .avr or similar file overnight and then play the pre-decoded file. Sure, much larger but at least it plays.
