I would only say it was wrong if you were asking for a lot of money...
The guy has a point -- if the part is no longer manufactured then you can't really expect to charge nearly what it sold for when it was around... but then you obviously see a marketing opertunity :)
Without knowing what it is ur selling, and even at that if it is a good friend or a complete stranger you are selling to, it is difficult to answer ur question properly...
