Hey, Youīre on the right track, here!
The problem with the cartridge port, however, is that it has no "transmit" line, so writing to it is slower than reading it by a factor two. :( And for the compatibility: I have trouble getting cartridges to work with my Falc, but they go fine with all my STEīs; for example Videomaster2 digitizer, and a german EPROM-burner. Heck, not even URIPPER works with my Falcon!
Iīd say: take a MP3-chip, give it a RAM buffer, and a SCSI-chip! Then you could connect it to a LINK or any SCSI adapter, and play them MP3īs directly from the HD! You wouldnīt even have to load the MP3 data into the computer... :) And of course, if you use a 2-way MPEG chip, you could also record new MP3īs D2D. Waddyasay? Way to go?? This wonīt be too hard to do, and I donīt think the needed software would be too complicated, for a good coder... (thatīs NOT me)
