Saw your post here; sorry it took so long.
If you're looking for help on the history of Atari, you've come to the right
place.
Websites I recommend in priority
http://www.atari-history.com
http://www.atarihistory.com
http://www.atari7800.com
Those 3 should be a great start and give you links to other sites you could
use like the Atari Time Machine.
I also recommend the following page if you're going more for the business
side of things
http://www.digiserve.com/eescape/atari/Atari-Timeline.html
There are also a couple out-of-print books which you may want to check
around for
ZAP: The Rise and Fall of Atari (http://www.pipeline.com/~jhardie)
PHOENIX: The Fall and Rise of Videogames (http://www.rolenta.com)
Both are quite good.
Now why am I giving you all of this info? Cuz I'm a nice person. And
because I'm currently brewing up my own paper on the very same topic. Mine
is viewable at
http://atari7800.com/lowend/retro.shtml
Right now, it's kinda brief but hits on all of the bases I believe. It's
undergoing rewriting stages and I'm thinking about making it much much
bigger; it would be neat to see this in print as a published book. I can
dream can't I.
Any more questions, just send em to me at
