You didn't hear about the Speccy fiasco then? When they announced Worms Armageddon they also said they were going to do a version for the ZX Spectrum. They even had a screenshot and a photo of a cassette with a WA sticker on it!
Needless to say, loads of people fell for it, including a ton of the on-line games news sites, only for Team 17 to announce a few days later something along the lines of "We were taking the p*** - what with all the Dreamcast and PlayStation 2 hype going around we felt like cooling things down a little".
