The cheapest wat to network your ST is by doing so via PPP or Slip.
All you need is a null-modem cable and a Tcp/Ip stack (http://sting.atari.org/).

For ethernet there are alot more expensive, and harder to find.
However there is a cartridge-based solution available, which is
easy to get going:
