Hey there,
I've done some brief checks on various sites I thought that would be of help and have made the following conclusions about your project:
1> It's a great idea!
2> It won't be any easy task by far.
3> I found no sites that recognized any game authors (aside from Howard Scott Warshaw's)
4> I'd love to help, although my support may be scattered at times:
My suggestions:
1> There exists several game lists, locate the most specific/appropriate list. I've got some links I could send you if need be. (I think a good list would contain year, make #, title, programmer, manufacturer)
2> Use hidden eggs and rom messages and public domain to find out as many programmers as possible.
In the meantime I'll check a few more unlisted sources.
