If you follow the instructions to the letter, it DOES work.

I have had all my ST's and the TT, and Milan running Magic, TOS, and MultiTOS connected to each of my Linux PC's ( AMD + Mandrake 7.2 - AMD486 + TurboLinux and Pentium + Slackware 7 ) and they all worked great.

You need a null modem cable ok.
