use bootsie, it will run a boot sector from Gem. There is no NVram on a Mega. The switches have never been revealed? If you don't have bootsie email me. By the way Frontier can be run from hard drive/gem as well. Should see Frontier at 50Mhz on a CT2 Falcon;-)
