My JaggiCD was like that when I first got it, with the spindle bit pushed in. However, it stopped working suddenly and I suspected the drive motor had failed. This was not the case, as I could put 3vDC into the motor and it worked.
I still haven't got it sorted - I suspect it took objection to playing Fear Factory through the VLM constantly. Philips were not helpful with replacing the parts, even though they made the mechanism...
