Well, I have some kind of Idea....
We need to get togheter, right?. We can make a group, a team, a non-profit organization, call it however you want. Our goals? Support the Atari plataform and spread it's ideals to the whole world. How?
1. We can support programmers who want to put their software in the PD. (There are many ways to do this).
2. We can write articles, explaining why the Atari plataform is still the best choice.
3. We can talk with the big companies. The Atari por of Opera thing is a good example. The team/group/organization could make deals with distributors, producers, etc. They would respect us more if we go to them as an established organization. We are not just a couple of guys, we are (CHOOSE THE NAME HERE).
4. We can make an index of already ported GNU software to the Atari plataform. A lot of software that not everybody knows that is ported to the Atari plataform (emacs for example).
5. We can make an index of all the Atari users all arround the world. Just like the Linux Counter... for those who are not still not convinced that the Atari world is still alive.
6. We can compilate a pack of free Applications for the Atari plataform, for those who want to get started on this issue of Atari, but doesn't want to spend a lot of money on commercial software.
Well, those are just a couple of ideas that came to my mind a lonely night. I've been working the whole day, so I'm very tired. Perhaps some points are stupid :)
