If they have Cormack on the team, they can even optimise it a little. Since GPU code can only be run in 2-3KB chunks, it has to be 'paged' in and out so the GPU can handle different bits of it. To get the Doom core engine to fit in with these restrictions, he had to split it into nine (9!) chunks, but claimed he could have done it differently in about 3.
I saw the GBA 'in the flesh' for the first time yesterday, and I was really impressed. The games are stupidly expensive though...
