This is exactly why someone is required to represent A.I. or to lead by example. There are a whole host of people who are capable of contacting these companies, but whether we should do it on our own is another point. There's no point arguing about it, everyone is necessary in this project and we can't afford to lose anyone, especially not the person who is responsible for putting together the PD library. It makes sense to me that the person who is dealing with software should feel inclined to contact a few companies. That way, when it comes to contacting the bulk of them we have an indication of precisely who, and why we are talking to them. I'd say, no harm done! However, maybe we should ALL wait and consider precisely how we wish to approach them. A professional body is going to get a better result than an individual, no matter his enthusiasm or abilities. Companies just feel secure when they receive headed notepaper rather than a bundle of emails from 'fans'. I was being refered to as well, for contacting 'Infogrames' and I see TRAX's point. Like everyone else though, I would take offence when being told what to do by someone I'm unfamiliar with. Hence the need to establish a proper forum & someone to chair it, so that we all have a point of contact and a means of deciding what needs done, by whom and when...
