Right, here goes...
Ok, You have a USB Camera. Well, Mine is a serial Camera, and I quite happily download pictures off it onto my TT no bother.
Your choice of interface, so you cannot blame your Atari for that! Why not get a USB to Serial adapter - they are external, so yes, they would work on an ST, and you can use your camera like that!

ERm, ExtenDOS? - Have you thought of that?
Obviously NOT! - Extendos ( Or, anodyne software anyway ) have CDRW Software for the Atari already, that has been out for a fair while now, so why bother telling me about having to write a GAL when you can just get the software from them?
IDE? - Why dont you just stick to SCSI?

Not as far as I am concerned, they still have a very big role to play in the Atari World, although I do think its true, that we should ditch support for them, but not yet... No way, not yet
The ST can happily go to 16Mhz ( mine are and it cost me a total of ZILCH to do ) and at 16mhz, thats a fair pace for most uses.
Ok, so ST users who are still using ST Medium res have a hell of a lot to learn I recon, but perhaps we should encourage them to get a high res screen at least.
As for the New Hardware side of things, then god yes, what there is, is far too expensive for anyone to seriously consider, unless they want to sell the family into slavery ( My wife still hasnt forgiven me for that ) so we will need serious help on that!
Companies always say that they need to sell their stuff at such a price to get back their development fees etc, but I have always said, that if they knocked the prices down, more people would buy the bloody things, and they will get even more money back!
