Thanks everyone, as usual this forum is full of good, friendly advice. Fat's I was only trying to gather up a little more information as your initial explination was good, yet remember that a second and even third opinion can shed light on lateral thinking. Look at the Megafile project and you'll see what I mean.

I need the quietest set-up possible and may very well just go the whole hog and rip the old SH205 apart, place a new SCSI section in (enough space for 2 HDD the Megafile project suggests!) I'll have to figure out how to do that...
